Creating referral coupons

BookingTimes allows you to create referral coupons. Referral coupons give the referrer as well as the new customer a discount when they book a service, purchase a product, or if you sell something to them over the phone.

Referral coupons can be an excellent way to incentivise your existing clients (e.g. via newsletters) to drive traffic to your business from their social media platforms. Referral coupons can be set with start and expiry dates. This article will detail how to set up and distribute referral coupons.

Setting up referral coupons

Steps

1. Navigate to Setup > Shopping > Referral Coupons
2. Click Add New Coupon

3. Set coupon Start and Expiry date (when you want the coupon to become available and when you want it to expire)
4. Set New Client Discount and Referrer's Discount, in dollars or percentage
5. Click Save

6. The Coupon Code will be generated by the system and displayed. You can now copy this code into any newsletters, or use the Coupon Promotion social media icons (and set a social media image) to share directly to those platforms. Any coupon usage will be tracked and displayed as a graph under each coupon.

Distributing coupons

To distribute a coupon, you simply need to share the coupon code you created in your promotional material (e.g. newsletters, social media etc).

The coupon code field will be available to the public when booking or purchasing on the payment screen, and you can apply the coupon code to any purchase you make from the admin screens.
